Getting Started
How do I join Kickup11?
Click "Join" and fill out the short application. Tell us your positions, skill level, and whether you want to be in the sub finder pool. Once approved, you'll receive a magic login link — no password needed.
Is there a cost to join?
Kickup11 is free to join. Individual game organizers may set a cost per player for field fees — that's handled between players directly via Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle.
Do I need to create a password?
No. Kickup11 uses passwordless magic links. When you want to log in, enter your email and we'll send you a secure link — click it and you're in.
Hosting a Game
How do I post a pickup game?
Once logged in, click "+ Host a Game" on the schedule page. Set your date, field, time, format, and max players. The game is live immediately and players can start RSVPing.
What happens when my game fills up?
When the roster hits your max, the game status automatically switches to Full and a waitlist activates. Additional players join the waitlist in order. If someone drops, the first person on the waitlist gets a 2-hour window to claim the spot.
How do I confirm my game?
Once your field and time are locked in, update the game status to Confirmed via the Edit Game panel. This lets your players know it's happening. You'll also receive email nudges if the game is approaching and still showing as Forming.
Can I make a game private?
Yes. When creating or editing a game, set the visibility to Private and the game type to Private. Only players you invite will be able to RSVP.
The Sub Finder
How does the sub finder work?
When a confirmed player drops from a game within 24 hours of kickoff, the game automatically switches to "Sub Needed" and our tiered notification system fires. Players in the sub pool who match the needed position and skill level get an email with a one-click claim link. First to click locks the spot.
How do I get into the sub finder pool?
On your profile page, toggle "Sub Finder" to active. You'll start receiving sub alerts for games near you that match your positions and skill level.
What if no one claims the sub spot?
If no Tier 1 match (position + skill) claims within 2 hours, a broader notification goes out to all sub-active players in your area. If the spot is still open within 6 hours of kickoff, the captain gets a warning to reach out directly.
RSVPs & Waitlist
Can I change my RSVP?
Yes, up until the RSVP lock. For pickup games, RSVPs lock 24 hours before kickoff. For league sub games, they lock 2 hours before. After the lock, contact the organizer directly.
How does the waitlist work?
If a game is full, you can join the waitlist. You're queued in order of sign-up. When a spot opens more than 24 hours before kickoff, the first person on the waitlist gets an email with a 2-hour window to claim it. If they don't respond in time, it passes to the next person.
